AMRAC has many forms of recognition. This recognition serves as not only a way to improve and support the self-esteem of our members, but to recognize patriotic service, community service and pride in past accomplishments. Major AMRAC awards are:

Named in honor of SGM Hans Scharff and SGM Dale Aberle. These two deceased members of our Association set the highest standards of friendship and professionalism that makes them most worthy namesakes of our Association's highest award. This award can be presented at any time. It comes in the form of a medallion and numbered certificate. It will only be awarded to members in good standing who are unanimously approved by our Association's awards board. The recipient must demonstrate moral courage, professionalism and patriotism as demonstrated by actions that leave a meaningful impact on the Army retention or recruiting fields. The contributions and moral courage exhibited must set the individual apart from his/her peers and provide the highest example for others to emulate. Any lifetime member or Association officer is permitted to nominate deserving individuals to the board. Members other than lifetime members may submit nominations in writing to a lifetime member or officer for consideration. There will be no fee for this award. For lesser achievements, the Medal of Merit (see below) should be considered in order to preserve the high standards of this award.
Presented to members or veterans who have made significant contributions to the Association or the causes of recruiting and retention. This award can be presented at any time. It comes in the form of a medallion and certificate. Any member in good standing can nominate deserving individuals for this award. A nominal cost of $20.00 is assessed to defray the cost of the award and shipping.
Awarded to all paid up three year and life-time members. This medallion reflects the association's Korean roots and origins of its predecessor organization. It comes with a certificate signed by the Executive Director or his representative.
This award can be presented at any time to a deserving veteran who through current, or lifelong efforts, enhances the causes of recruiting and retaining young Americans in the Armed Forces.
Eligibility for Distinguished Veteran Award:
- Must be an honorably discharged veteran (active or reserve) of any military service of the United States.
- Must be nominated in writing or by e-mail ([email protected]) by an AMRAC member in good standing.
- Must be approved by the veteran?s awards oversight committee.
- Must be presented by an Association Life Member.
One truly deserving veteran is selected as the AMRAC Veteran of the Year annually. This award is presented to a deserving veteran of any United States military service who has made contributions that positively impact on the lives of service members or veterans at the National level. Nominations will be solicited in The Gazette newsletter. The award will be presented in an appropriate setting.
